I just installed a new hard drive on my laptop (which became VERY VERY messy. Just too many small parts!). Anyhow, it works but it is a little weird and I am not that confident in the system. Like, when it boots up, it says that the processor is only 250 Mhz, but it is a 450.

Anyone know of a good diagnostic program, hopefully free or cheap, that will tell me if my laptop is running ok? Other than that, anyone have any suggestions on how I can test the system so that I can have more faith in my computer?

Thanks!

My friend has a program that tells you the temp of the cpu, speed of the cpu and the temp of the mobo. I'll ask my friend what he uses and I'll get that to you asap...or if anybody else get something else to you than thats cool also.

but while I'm doing that...here is a option that my labtop has...my labtop has a option to slow the cpu down to save battery life...I have a toshiba...I don't know if your labtop has that option...but if it does...the menu would be in the control panal...I'll be back with the program.
