Saw this at fatwallet, where it was obtained from aliensoup... anyways here's how to do it:
----
"Here is how this works:
1) Call Staples.com at 1-800-3STAPLE
2) Place an order on the chair ITEM NUMBER: 394280
For more info on the chair, go here: http://www.staples.com/Products/Spotlights/Situations/Leather/Default.asp?
3) Use the following coupons
a. $20 off $50 - Code: 90523
b. Free Attache Case with $75 purchase - Code: 90493 (Tell them Attache Case item number: 436153, This is required)
c. $30 off the chair - Code: 87582
YOU CAN ONLY DO THIS OVER THE PHONE! The coupons on then internet are all screwed up. Just did this deal...it works. The chair ends up costing you $50.00 w/ a Free Attache Case."

No problem man...with any order before $50 (and before coupons) you can get the item sent for free. It is usually is sent via Overnight UPS or Staples truck. All depends on your area.
Hope that helps. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

Quick question (possibly a dumb one)
What is an attache case? (LOL I figured it out now...as I said...dumb question :P http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif
Also the lady on the phone told me that my order never reached abover 75$ and therefore could not get the attache case for free so I told her I would call back. Any insight? Thanks.

weird.. try changing the order in which you request the coupons.. first the attache, then the 20 off 50, and then the 30 off..

I also just did this deal...worked great and my total was 53 and some change (avec 6% tax in Ohio) The attache was also in stock, and I did not have any problems getting that either.
Oh, for Jaysnugs: an attache bag is just a bag with lots of pockets for organizing and stuff...who knows if i'll use it, but it was free.
Anyhow, this is a heck of a deal. Good day.

Hey guys, is the chair any good for your back? Pennypinch said in this post: http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/Forum5/HTML/002003.html
that the $100 dollar chair isn't all that great... Maybe someone could give us a review on it if he/she owns one or test sat in one at his/her neighborhood Staples?
I got mine for $48 with attache case, woohoo!
But online the attache coupon in invalid, call, like onalamwar said, and everything is gravy.
it should work, there is only 1 dollar off coupon involved. If necessary, drop the paper.

The seats are actually not that bad...for its price. The bottom cushion isn't as padded as one likes, and the back support is a tad odd at first. The thing though is that the back support is ergonomically correct.
The bottom cushion though, feels a tad thin and there's no lateral support. Hey, I'm used to my Volvo seats and the heavy bolstering that's on those seats. This chair feels a tad like the back seats. Not as comfy, but still fine for me.
The leather has that "Camry" smell. Just like how new japanese cars w/ leather seats smell.. Which is sorta like your couch :-P

I used the same deals to get an HP scanner they had on clearance for $29, including the attache case and free GeorgiaPacific InkJet paper, 2,500 sheets. For the paper, use ITEM #487108 and coupon #90297

I did do it over the phone. 2 problems:
The free attache coupon only works when the order is over $140. But they were willing to with around that with a "generic" code that they found.
NO TWO DOLLAR OFF COUPONS AT THE SAME TIME

I just ordered the chair for $54 - great deal guys - thanks. By the way, the code for the attache case requires a purchase of over $100 but if you use the code listed in the GotDeals? section (90620) you can get the free attache case with the chair. It's the same case and everything, just a different code.
Thanks for the great deals.

Everything came in fine yesterday. My only problem is I have to find a receipt now so I can use the mail-in rebate for the scanner. Since I ordered by phone, I didn't really get a receipt, so I emailed staples. We'll see what they say.

apex said the chair doesn't tilt back... is this true???
onalamwar
06-14-2000, 04:03 PM
yeah the chair doesn't tilt which sucks.. i think the reason it doesn't is because the plate(?) that connects the wheels apparatus to the seat is the problem.. i wonder if anyone knows what i'm talking about... also, once you put one of these chairs together is there any way to take it apart again?

wait wait...the chair does tilt back..doesn't it? you pull the pneumatic height adjustment handle outward and it should alow it to tilt back.
BTW, i couldn't use two dollar off coupons because I went to the store and bought it w/ the coupons. What i did was that i wanted the stuff immediately so i called up the Internet CS. She called up my local store. in San Diego county, the Mira Mesa store (next to the airtouch building) will take internet coupons. Because they didn't have the leather attache (something that's used as a promotion, so it's special order), i just chose some 39.99 heavy duty bag that I wanted.
Also, because someone took the last chair, I just took the chair that I thought was the correct one. With the help of apathetic salesman plus apathetic manager, I got what I think is a good chair and a bag that i actually want. i dunno if I just took the wrong chair or something..there was no tag, it sorta looked like the one on the website, and they didn't really care

sklim1.. i dunno.. maybe they are considering the attache to be a dollar off.. i guess even without the attache the chair for $50 is a pretty good deal..
Victor.. THANKS for telling my dumb ass how to do that!!! hehe

I got all my goods (chair, attache, and paper) for $67.08 shipped the next morning. I was sort of surprised cuz the guy was like "right" on the phone.
I have a problem with the chair though - maybe I got a different chair from everybody. I noticed that no matter how much I tighten the arms they still seem a bit wobbly because the supports for the bolts are loose. Plus the instructions mention use of a washer (Part K) which isn't even listed in their part list nor is it in the packaged items.
I bought a $99 chair at Best Buy last year and it's much better quality and sturdiness - but hey, for $54.10 shipped why argue?
MY CHAIR does TILT back though. The entire units tilts however. The seatback does not tilt away from the seat itself.
Oh, does anybody know what the rebate deal is on the HP scanner? I could get this for a friend of mine. The directions posted on the deals page are a bit confusing.

i've had no problems with the armrests being loose.. but they did not include washers with my chair as well..
kar
I was having a problem with wobble too when I first got it up....heres what I did....
Make sure you have the allen wrench with the long side horizontally...and just turn is tight as HELL, like tighter than tight. Actually, I got a better little wrenchy think I had around my house that was stronger, and just KEPT turning. When the arms are in ALL the way they will not wobble. And it tilts when the tilt lock if off, and it is so comfy, BEST $48 chair EVER...
if you haven't gotten this yet, GET IT

Got my chair and 2500 sheets of paper today. They had told me the attache was not in stock in my area but they will be sending it from a different store so it will take longer to get there. Anyway, I followed the codes given by Colossus by calling them over the phone and the CSR (Frank) told me that I couldn't use more than 1 coupon at a time and that the policy changed a few weeks ago. Then then told him that I believe the "rule" only applies to "dollar coupons". So I asked him to check for me. About a minute later he told me I was correct and proceeded with the rest of my order. So don't let them give you crap and be a little more adamant in a nice way and they'll see the light. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif My chair does tilt actually the whole seat tilts. No seperate back tilting independent of the seat. It does feel more comfortable than my current leather chair and the arm rests are padded which my other chair wasn't (sometimes get bruises from Quake2 just leaving it on the rests). The tilting is done with a big tension knob. The only other thing you can adjust is the height of the seat which is the standard pneumatic level. Very easy to assemble and was done in less than 5 minutes. The arm rests are sturdy and are mounted from two different pivot points so it's less likely to get loose like my other chairs which requires retightening of the screws at some point. Overall, it's definately worth $53 for the extra paper and attache case.
