You know how sometimes there's nothing like a good cold beer? This was one of those times.

some how i think BrewMaster was joking about the one a month... maybe... anyway, BM, there was a discussion about some pumpkin spice ale or something like that earlier, do you think the'y sell that at a major supermarket (like safeway or winco?) I must say, that one did sound tastey...

well Luxykin007 I wasn't kidding about the month. well right now at least, I haven't been drinking much in the past year. as for the Pumkin Ale, I think they're done for the year. I went to Ralph's, Pavillion's, Albertson's, 7-11, Safeway, Long's Drugs, 2 random liquor stores, and Beverages and More. After 9 stores, I think they're not making anymore this year. That's what the girl at Beverages and more said. THe brewery is across the bay from my parents house here so if these stores don't have it, I doubt anyone does. If you find it, let me know, but these 9 places were out.

oh, and leemaj college is about way more then drinking. i know you were probably kidding, so I'm not flaming you or anything, but don't be fooled that college is all about drinking. there's nothing wrong with drinking a bit, but people who spend their lives in a alcoholic haze do not represent college. don't settle for that BS when you go to college. this is where you grow up (hopefully), make mistakes and learn to be an adult.

DARE is lame, that's why they scrapped it. I'll give you that. I just think it kinda sucks that people say college is the best 4 years (or 5 in my case) and then they settle for smokin' weed and gettin' drunk every night. I think it's lame and sad because I see the same people in later talking about how much they hate thir lives, so they numb things by gettin' faded as often as possible. I'm not taking some moral high ground or anything, I just think it's sad for them. I did this in HS and it didn't satisfy me, it was lame. that's why i changed things up in college. Now I love my life and I love college. I can't wait to graduate, but I also know when I'm living life after college I won't look back and realize I spent my 5 years in a chemically induced haze. just IMHO.

Drugs stay in your system for qiute some time. You are presumably in college in order to have a better future. Ever think about pre-employment drug tests?

You seem to think that because you are young you're indestructible and don't have to worry about the future - that there will be no ramifications of your current actions. So very typical of drug users...

You have some growing up to do.

that's what I think but I didn't really wanna get into it. with sex comes potential diseases and pregnancy. Condoms are not 100% (see some thread in off topic from about a month ago). With drugs comes a whole mess of othe problems. I'm a chemist, I know what's in that sh1t and I don't want it in my lab, let alone my body. it's illegal for a reason. so you can think what you want about not regretting the furute, but you're better off not "playing with fire."

Yeah I too used to dabble (more like guzzle) all that lifestyle. I was pretty hardcore at points.... anyway, I have been totaly sober from drugs for 1 1/2 years and almost 2 years since getting drunk (though I am 21 I do still enjoy the occasional beer) I just wanted to let you know PsillyPyro, that for me personally (emphasis there) I am much more of a complete person without pot. I no longer depend on pot to make hanging out with my friends fun. I don't live as much for the moment, but have a strong focus on the future. As a result, I have changes my major from something that would have made me rich, to something I actually like doing. As a result of that my grades are up from a 1.69 to a 3.84. Drugs had a negative impact on me. I too am not trying to slam on you man, pot was fun and I understand that. I just feel great to not be dependent on chemical for any reason any longer, kinda like returning to the child and re-gaining some of my innocence if you will... Just my two cents. Have a happy Thanksgiving Pyro.

Jeezus..you guys seem to think that if someone messes around with drugs they are some kind of addict and dependent on the drug. I have a 3.9 in computer engineering, dont depend on drugs for anything, and have a very active social life with and without drugs and alcohol. You need to get off your soap boxes and realize that some people can do things in moderation and not go off the deep end like you guys did. It seems that you had to have some kind of complete life change in order to get your life straight again. I am smart enough to know not to get so deeply into it that it takes over my life. Sorry you weren't.

Sorry you weren't. This is exactly the kind of rationalization I've come to expect from drugs users that don't recognize the dangers involved. All you just did is repeat your "it's not going to happen to me" claptrap, and it is THIS that is a big sign of immaturity and - again - very typical of drug users.

You obviously would much rather take offense at what is begin said here than acknowledge that there is a lot of experienced advice for you to draw upon - one more sign of immaturity.

I'm done. Have a life.
