Well, I must be stupid cuz I just dropped $250 on a pair of eyeglasses. Haven't bought them in about 8 years or so, but I just lost my pair. I normally just wear contacts all the time, but I need glasses as a backup. Fer cryin' out loud, there were some pairs that wanted $300 just for the frames. Then you have to buy the lenses separately. Somebody is makin' serious jack offa my cluelessness.:hmm:

Edit: And fer Chrissakes, NIKE now has branded eyewear. Yes, you too can have your "Air Stevie Wonder" fashion frames for about $280. Jeez!

yep... you can get designer frames, regular frames, custom frames....

the last time i bought glasses (july) i spent almost 600 dollars for two sets of frames and lens (one pair was for sunglasses)i dunno. I'd rather pay a little more tso the glasses aren't all heavy and icky on my face then those ugly ones that are 25 bux

If I was a pair of glasses, people would pay a lot for me.

Sorry guys, just needed some self-esteem boost here.

Well, Thanks Nija and DF. Even though I'm out $$$$, at least I don't feel like a complete sucker for spending some money on the eyeglasses. It had just been so long since I bought some, I just had a severe case of "sticker shock".

I still think its a big scam. Anyone know of good frames/lenses stocks I can buy so I can participate in this operation?
:P

I usually either get my glasses at Costco or Walmart. The frames are nice, and they aren't that expensive. The pair I have now, I think I paid a total of $129. I've had them for over a year, and I love them. I only go to places likes Lenscrafter in an emergency when I need glasses in less than three or four days. (since i have an astigmatism, no eyeglasses place ever has my lenses in stock)

I went looking for a drill-mount pair this weekend. Found a brand named "Silhoutte", from somewhere in Europe (Austrai?)... Really slick looking titanium bendable frame. It didn't even have the usual "sides"! Add that onto a pair of Pentax 1.67 with anti-reflective coating, and the grand total comes to a little over $650! Time to sell off an organ at eBay. :heh:

Gigger, Is one of the folks in the photo you? I must be clueless cuz I don't get the "Boo" point of the photo.

Also, I attribute the fact I started a bum lineup in FFL to the fact that I didn't have my vision correction on. :P
