Help w/ RAID

Okay... here's the deal. I have a 30GB Maxtor 7200 RPM and an 8GB IBM DeskStar? that I was thinking about using to set up a RAID system for my computer. What would it take to do it and would it be signifigantly faster?

You do know that RAIDing your 30gb and 8gb drive will only result in 16gb that takes advantage of the speed boost?

As mentioned before, it works a lot better if you have two matched drives (same type and size). Then you have to decide if you want twice the drive space and almost twice the speed, or normal drive space with backup.
