You are asking about the reader...I don't know what that really is, however if you are asking for the link to the blue card, it is in gotapex.com main page. And in the left column.

If memory serves me well..
the URL was: http://www.americanexpress.com/blue
and you could apply for the reader
only after you are approved/receive
the american express blue card. I requested
my reader the day I received my blue card
and they sent it a couple days later!!
very quick!!
but I'm not sure..I think the free reader
deal is expiring soon.

Its not that kind of card reader, it reads the smart chip built into the card, sorry you won't get free DSS with this. I signed up for the card a long time ago, I called and they said they were shipping the cards out at the end of june or early July. I gotta wait quite a while still.
I'm gonna use my reader as a paperweight. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

Has anyone found a good use for the reader? Its not like any sites REQUIRE that extra verification. CC fraud effects us all, but it is still easier just to cut and paste my credit card number into the form than find vendors that use the AMEX reader.
yeah they've been extending it since march (and maybe before). the address is www.americanexpress.com/igotblue (http://www.americanexpress.com/igotblue)
how many online retailers actually take AMex? That would be the clincher for me.

I haven't used my blue card for any online purchases yet, but I have used it at about 10 different retailers and they all took it. I used it for airline tickets, gas, hotel, pizza, and at Subway. It seems to be as well accepted as my Visa and MasterCard.

two weeks ago on amex page it said card reader expires 5/31, but after i e-mail customer service 5 times they changed it to 8/31 because many customers that applied in april still didn't get their cards.

Bet your little NetSigna 210 reader/WRITER it will. Not with the software that Amex sends you. You will need to research the DSS forums. For more info on the hardware, check out www.litronic.com (http://www.litronic.com) and now the WARNING :

I don't know anything about DSS cards or programming them, but this looks like a good site to start learning on.

I believe the free reader deal is over.
If you want to buy it go to the site after you are approved and order it. It's not that expensive and its kind of cool.
Maybe you can call CS and talk you way into a free one.

The reader is not the NetSigna mentioned above. It is the Gemplus GCR415. I went to the Gemplus website and they don't even list model 415 as something they produce. I put a post on their forum to get more info. When I get it all figured out I will post the details.
It does appear, though, that the GCR415 can write. The first thing it does when you use it is asks you to change you PIN. When you do this the new PIN is WRITTEN to the smartcard (according to the instructions). If it can write a new PIN then it might be able to write a DSS card.
