I just tried a citrus SoBe. It's pretty good. What other flavors are good? I am going to need the extra energy now that it is the final 3 weeks of the semester...

They charge what the market will bear. It's capitalism. If it was too much for their product, no one would buy it and they would lower the price. Soda is cheap because there is so much competition between nearly identical products. There isn't a drink out there that really competes with Sobe (not in the same league anyway) so they can charge whatever they want for it.

I get a better kick out of 2 bottles of coke, or when i put three packs of coffee in the company's coffe maker, damn i felt my blood preassure go up, i was more awake... then (insert something here)... some people couldn't hadnle that special brew :) it was funny

The worst thing is the "quality" of the packaged "coffee" that most places supply. Concentrated bitterness is what you brewed.

Speaking of liquid crack, I just had one of the original Red Bulls from Thailand. A friend picked 'em up in Chinatown. They come in small glass bottles that look more like elixirs than a soda bottle. That stuff should come with a warning. :splat:

I dig on the SoBe, especially the 'Energy' version... mmm.. and I don't drink coffee or tea so both those arguements are blown outta the water :). Althought i remember when red bull came out and it was like 2.50 almost 3 dollars at some places... it was good.... not THAT good tho...

Are all you guys talking about the 20 oz bottles of SoBe? I get them here at work for $1.50 which is a bit better. How much caffeine does that energy version have? I feel pretty wired right now haha.
Is there a decaffeinated version? I noticed it has other stuff it in for energy too. But caffeine gives you an artificial high. Do they have one with st. john's wort? that stuff really works.

sobe a-rush isn't just caffeinated soda - it really does have some fairly expensive ingredients. isolating and purifying amino acids isn't cheap, and it also has quite a few vitamins. and it DOESN'T have dangerous heart-attack-in-a-bottle stuff like epinephrine knock-offs - ephedrine, etc.

i really do feel like it gives me a hell of a kick, and i've tried every other energy drink on the market and not gotten anywhere near the same result. and it tastes so good...

Of course not! Its an assault on your system of caffeine, sugars and B vitamins. The end result is your metabolism and carbohydrate processing rate is jolted like a rocket. I'd hate to give this stuff to diabetics.

BTW, Red Bull with Absolut Mandarin is the best way to do it. The orangey flavor of the vodka hides the mediciny, "Flintstones Vitamins" aspect of the Red Bull's flavor.
