I love my All-In-Wonder Radeon. It really bothers me to hear "gamers should avoid this card" and "barely compares to a GF2 MX." The truth is that the Radeon chipset is much more customizeable and feature-rich than the GF2. On a level playing field, with updated drivers (there are more than 20 versions-all in the last 18 months), the Radeon will be as fast or faster than a GeForce2 for moden games that use a great deal of detail.
And that price...goodluck finding something near it for the same cash.

Further, I overclock my Radeon. With stock cooling, I can raise it from 166MHz to 198MHz. Can you overclock your video card and it's memory to 120%? of its shipping speed?

I have no ill will to NVidia or its cards. I've built a number of computers with GeForce2s. I just like the feature set that ATI has included in it's lastest two cards more than the sheer speed of the GF2 and the GF3. Besides...how many games have you played in the last year or two that ran BELOW 40fps (at 1024x768) on a PentiumIII? The hardware is so far beyond the games, that all newer video cards will run anything well. I'll take the rich feature set and 40-50 fps over less-detailed graphics and 60-70 fps. Maybe that's just me.

Yeah I agree with you. I'm an ati fan for the reason their 2d is better and the visual quality is better too. But for pure frame rates, nvidia wins and thats all gamers really care about. Thats why they dog on ati. Plus ati stinks in the driver department. Although they have improved a lot.

ATI *did* stink in the driver area. Now...they rock. They produce a new driver set about every month. The current Radeon drivers (I'm using 7199) are more than 25% faster (in 3DMark2001) than the shipping drivers. I've been very impressed with ATI, and the features that they have added in driver sets (that consumers have asked for).

I hope they keep it up.

Now...to digitally capture some shows from the Sci-Fi channel...

you do have the option to install what you want and what you dont want. the thing the that pisses me off is that you cant select which file types you want to associate with the programs, it just automatically does it for you. so now i just dont install it, i just install the the tv program and the dvd player.

Around my travels around the net I see more Nvidia bashing than ATI bashing. Like people claim Nvidia only has speed and always has crappy image quality. But I have certainly seen people talk smack about Radeons. Like ATI has terrible drivers. I say play it straight across the board!

But fanboy zealotry is nothing new though. At the now demised AGN3d forum there used to be a Voodoo Zombie called Brotha who would go into every thread and praise 3dfx to the heavens. It was like he was sleeping with the videocard or something. http://sbp777.homestead.com/files/shocked.gif And if anyone wants to see current fanboy zealotry in action, go over to Rage3d's forum and look for that dip Doomtrooper.

The ATI-Nvidia clash is not as intense as 3dfx-Nvidia.

Heh. Here is a classic blast from the videocard cards wars.

it used to be really bad in Tom's hardware forum between nvidia and 3dfx fans.

It's just a bloody video card. it's not a religion.
