PSU problem or bad board?

I just ordered and installed my Epox 8KHA+ mainboard and when I started up it went the normal checks on the LED and then shut itself down without any error. Then I couldn't get it to power on again. I double checked everything and installed my old 8KHA and it worked fine. I have a 300W PSU and perhaps I need a 350 or 400W PSU?

Is this a common problem people are experiencing or just bad luck?
