Time to share!

I am going to make a LOT of cookies this year -- teachers, neighbors, friends, family...) I always make the same ones, so I am in need of some new ones. What are your favorites?

My friend Teri (she is currently in the Azores) always made no bakes and gave me this:

1 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup milk
2 cups quick oats
1 cup white sugar
1-3 tbsp cocoa, depending on preference for chocolatiness

1. Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add milk, sugar and cocoa. Mix well.
2. Bring to boil over high heat. Boil for 2 minutes, and remove from heat.
3. Immediately add oats. Mix well.
4. Spoon out onto baking sheet or waxed paper.
5. Let cool. The cookies will harden.

Makes 2 dozen cookies

Will post another later :)

Now we are cooking!

I will post some holiday favorites but for those that
don't cook, here is a great idea.

Last year I bought Ghiradelli Dipping Chocolate in both
White and Dark Chocolate at Sam's Club. I also have bought
the smaller size at Wal-mart Superstores.

You can make all sorts of treats...

Oreos...I love the ones with RED icing. Dip in Dark and drizzle
White on or redip half in White like a tuxedo.

Pretzels...Regular pretzels dip half in either kind of chocolate. You can hold on to it without getting chocolate all over you.
Take the large
long pretzels that are the size of pencils (I am sorry I don't know
my pretzel terminology)and dip in either
type of chocolate and roll in multicolored sprinkles.

Dry all these on wax paper and store in a dry, cool place.

One last thing...take small candy canes, crush with rolling pin and
add to melted chocolate. Spoonful into candy papers (like small cupcake liners) and let set. Yummmm!!!!!

This chocolate is great for dipping strawberries but fruit needs to be
eaten with 12 hours after dipping and should be stored in fridge.
