I've been reading some of the reviews, and I'm curious as to why, when the resolutions are upped, the performance goes up. Well, maybe not up, but the Radeon seems to lose a lot less ground compared to the Nvidia chipsets. I'm just wondering if anyone knows why that is?

I'm confused, are they saying it is the drivers?

yep, it usually is. ati has GREAT hardware to compete with nvidia's products, but the drivers always make the hardware optimized. ATI just has not been updating them as well and as timely as nvidia's software engineers have.
I was reading one of the reviews just the other day, can't remember who did it, but it compared the 8500 with most of the faster nVidia cards...
In theory, Ati's hardware should be out performing even the Ti500, but it keeps coming up short. I understand that to be a driver issue, but what I can't understand is why, when the resolution and gets up, the frame rates don't drop as rapidly as the nVidia cards.
At lower resolutions, the Ti 500 whallops the 8500, but at higher resolutions, it is much, much closer... I just wasn't sure if THAT was a driver issue.
