best dvd brand?

is there one dvd brand that stands out among all others? Im looking for the best possible player for around $200.

No, there is not. There are a lot of good brands at that price range, but no single best brand at that price range. More important than the brand is looking at the individual models.

However, the best DVD player at that price range is quite easily the Panasonic DVD-RP56. In fact, I would submit that it's the best one under $500.

for $200....i think they all mostly the same...keep an eye out for a deal on an onkyo player, they're definitely worth the money.

i just recently upgraded my old toshiba to the panasonic dvd-rp56

supported all the cdrs i threw at it, and has progressive scan
