3D Studio Max 4...

anybody get this installed successfully in WinXP?
I'm having troubles with it.

i have it as well. workins in win2k fine. but xp hasnt been too forgiving. i blame XP....ive installed this splendid program too many times to have these problems.good luck

update it to 4.2 50 megs (ftp.autodesk.com/discreet)
then get the cdilla update at www.discreet.com

xp has a problem with the old cdilla that is installed, discreet made an updated cdilla that will work with xp...

I am having the same problem; I installed 3ds 4, then the 4.2 update, then the new cdilla files, and at the '3ds is initializing' portion of the program start up, it craps out, I get a blue screen that stays up for all of .5 seconds, and then my computer reboots.

I haven't read of anyone who has encountered this problem, so if anyone has any clues, I'd be greatful.
