It has been said before but I didn't really believe it would work. I've had my eye on the Sony DCR-PC9 camcorder which goes for $1299 at sears, amazon, 800.com, etc.
I called my local sears to see if they had it in stock and they said yes, 1 left, and held it for me. I asked if they pricematch (webpage says policy is to match "established" stores such as 800.com, circuitcity.com, amazon.com, ...). The person I spoke with just said print out the page with the total, including shipping for web price match (didn't mention "established" stores clause).
So I printed out http://amphotoworld.com/product_detail.asp?sku=sndcrpc9 from the extremely shady A&M Photoworld and headed to Sears. It was $789 at A&M (lowest price I could find). Total with cheapest shipping was $828. I showed it to the person ringing me up at the store and I really didn't expect for them to match. But she said, "I'm sorry but I can the lowest I can give it to you for is $836 ($789 + 6% tax, I don't follow the logic) Of course I said that was fine with me and walked out of Sears with a great camcorder and I didn't have to worry about waiting for my package to be delivered or dealing with some shady website that might not provide a U.S. warranty with the product.
So if you are in the market for some electronics that are carried at Sears, I encourage you to look at price comparison sites and try to price match. It worked for me...
