Stopped by Kmart b&m to pick up some tape, and walked
by the electronics department.

They had a Kodak DC3200 camera there for $99. Most places
have it online for $130-150, so I picked one up because I've
been looking for an entry level digital camera.

It rang up at $79.90. Probably is a clearance model now.

But it's an excellent price for a 1megapixel camera that
does 1152x864 pictures. Nothing fancy about it, but
usually all you find in that price range are 640x480 cameras.

If you've got a Kmart in the area, check and see if they've
got any...

BTW, Circuit City has this same camera on their web site for
$130 with a $70 mail in rebate, bringing it to $60. But you've gotta wait for that wonderful rebate with the Circuit City deal...

I smell a pricematch... let's see. Buy from Circuit City @ $130, price match with Kmart at $79.90, mail in Circuit City $60 rebate, grand total = $19.90? Woo hoo!

trying to get it now....here's what the rebate on the website says:

"Qualifying items must have been purchased on 12/07/01 and 12/31/01."

hope that's a typo...and it is supposed to say:

Qualifying items must have been purchased BETWEEN 12/07/01 and 12/31/01.

Hmm.. I picked up the same camera for $30 at Target on clearance. The one I have was a display model, but works just fine. The flash is too strong for anything under 5 feet, so i've covered the flash with a white piece of paper to act as a diffuser - works great.

I use a digital camera at work and have since bought one for personal use. My experience is that they all "eat" batteries. If you buy the photo lituim batteries you will have much better performance.

Best price on the batteries is I think Office Depot at $8.99/4. I stocked up last time they had that $20 off $20.01 at the B&M.

i use lithium ion rechargeable batteries and they work very nicely....150 some pictures before recharging.
