First, does anyone here have any experience with the utility Jetadmin or the device Jetdirect? If what I previously said applies to you please read on. Here are the problems as well as the symptoms. I will try to give a complete description of what is going on. I have been updating the firmware on numerous printers via Jetadmin firmware update. I am updating the version from whatever version it currently is to 8.32. All of the firmware flashes have worked, but the problem arises when you try to connect to that printer/Jetdirect box again with Jetadmin. It seemingly no longer exists. Yet when you go to the printer and look examine it you find that it is in fact functioning properly. I am able to telnet to the printer and issue commands password changes, bringing it on and offline… Etc. But the fact remains that I am still not able to see it through Jetadmin. I have tried re-installing the jetadmin software as well as using it from a different computer; all of this with the same results as before. If anyone has experience with this and would be willing to volunteer information it would be greatly appreciated.

What protocol are you using to connect to the printers? Did you check to veryfy that the upgrade didn't mess with the printer's network settings?

Yes... We have it restricted to use tcp/ip only. We have also checked to see that the ip is set correctly. As far as we can tell all of the settings are the same as they were prior to the flash.

Weird - have you tried stepping back to a previous version to see if the problem goes away?
