Go to run.
Type "msconfig"
Startup Tab
uncheck the stuff you dont want to run.

Or go to hotfiles.com and download Startup Cop.

Yeah, do that. I have the program, and it works great.

Sounds like a nice program. Does it work with Win2k? It says Windows 95/98/NT, so I want to make sure from someone that has used it.

what are the other progs you are trying to get rid of? some programs that you may have installed can really dig themselves in there, and you might not be able to find them w/msconfig or in the startup area.

Yeah, that's why Startcop is such a good program. It gives you the ability to disable all or some of the programs on your computer that launch at startup.
