View Full Version : Does it feel like Christmas to you?

This is probably more directed to those out here on the west but growing up on the East Coast, I fondly recall snow and all the works when it came to December. Out here... I don't know. Maybe it's the weather or the lack of snow, but there seems to be less festivity when it comes to this holiday

Doesn't feel like it here. Today is our 27th consecutive day of above-average temperatures. In fact, I'm still picking ticks off my dog becasue we haven't had a hard freeze yet.
Yep, lots of snow here! I took the little ones sledding yesterday, and came in and drank cocoa by the lit-up tree. I can't wait for Christmas! :D

it felt more like fall yesterday here in LA. nice brisk sunny weather. when i go back home to the bay area friday, i'm going to guess it's gonna just be cold. but i will be in tahoe on christmas, so it will seem kinda christmas-y with the snow i guess.

not in the least. this weather on the east coast really, really bites. we've had like one freeze so far since summer went away. pathetic, if'n you ask me.
what's a man gotta do to get himself a proper winter (besides of course, making for the midwest (*shudder*:)))?

Growing up with cold and snow in IL, I have to say it's not winter here either... but givin I live in Las Vegas now, I don't think I will have a winter until we visit my in laws in Fallon.
I remember my first Christmas out of the mid west. I was soo sick of not having snow! Wearing shorts on Christmas is just not cool.. :(

it totally doesn't feel like christmas here in michigan. we haven't had a day of snow yet. but that's ok. i'd rather not have to put up w/ the snow.
besides, i put up christmas lights and a tree at my apartment on monday, so that's getting me in the mood :)

It does not feel like Christmas or even winter for that matter. I live in PA and I am still running my A/C on most days! There have only been a few kind of cold days here. It is crazy.
It has been nice for the most part but kind of strange to think Christmas is less than a week away. I am under so much stress that I am feeling truly scrooge like anyway.

not really, although I've gotten into the spirit, buying gifts for people and getting ready to go to Oklahoma to visit my family. It will be the first year we've spent Christmas with them since we got married. (Scott never has - we always spent Thanksgiving down there and Xmas here, but since my mom was in Alabama in the hospital on Thanksgiving, we switched this year.) So I'm looking forward to it. :) My family (mom & aunt especially) gets into the holidays much more grandly than my hubby's family. :)
(edit) Forgot to add that it has been such a nice temp that most days, our front door is open and we are still sleeping with the window in the bedroom about half open or it gets too warm with the a/c off. lol

highs today dipped into the 70's today. winter is here.

it's freezing cold, but that 10 inches of snow we got melted away. Hopefully we are getting some snow this weekend, but otherwise, yeah, it feels like christmas...having a kid helps with that though.

.For me, it doesnt really seem like christmas either. I think its in part cause theyve moved christmas vacation back. Its christmas like three days after we start vacation (which we havent yet) so it doesnt really seem like christmas is nearing.
If you guys think the weather over there is strange now... just wait. I bet youll get POUNDED come jan/feb.;)

it feels like Christmas time here in the bay area. a little chilly, and it just started sprinkling a half hour ago. if it snowed here, i'd get pissed.
