PS2 Problems with Grand Theft 3!!! HELP

Hey, For any PS2 players out there, does your Grand Theft Auto3 ever crash on you?? Mine did, in the process of "save game", and i lost EVERYTHING. I had one game saved from over a month ago.

What happened was, i set it to save soon after passing a mission, like 50% done with the game. It gets to that red screen, "Overwriting data on mem card, do not turn off or reset" and sat there for half an hour. I had to reset, and when i turned it on, that "slot" was empty, and the next game on teh card loaded.

Is there any way to get it back?? Please help!

I've never had that problem before, odd. Sounds like it could be your memory card though. You ever had it around speakers, or anything else with big magnets?

yeah, the memory card is about 10 inches from some medium sized speaker. I didnt think that those cards were magnetic media however. same device as compact memory i thought.

nah it's not just u. I have that problem too and it freezes sometimes when you are using the boat and cross over to the other town

it's prolly the game. A friend of mine can't even play gt3 on his ps2... sorry dood
