According to their site they remove the features such as commentary and instead encode the mpeg2 stream at roughly twice the bitrate of a normal DVD. Sounds cool to me.
Wow this is funny you mention it. I just heard about these maybe....2 hours ago from a friend. They do sound awesome, I want to check em out.

I have heard they cost about $8 more than a regular DVD. On their site they have about 7 titles released so far. From what I can remember off the top of my head there was Air Force One, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and some others.
I wonder how long until blockbuster rents em hehe.
I believe they only have 5 titles out and more to be released next year.

Can these be ripped like a 'normal' DVD? I'm ripping my favorite DVDs and storing some of them on a hard drive so they're available from my multimedia computer.

There is the whole first set of 5 at Costco. I believe it is $99.

I have Crouching Tiger but have yet to check it out. So what's better, the video, audio, or both?

Was at Wal-Mart (cough cough) today and they had The 5th Element, Air Force One, Desperado, and a few more Superbrit DVD's. They were all roughly $20.
