Hello,
Just got a new dell p4 1.6 ghz running Win2k. Did a fresh install of 2k as soon as i got the computer to wipe all the Dell junk. I have windows media player 6.4.09.1121.

Whatever type of media i play (Except for CDs), such as streaming media, and MP3's, they play at approximately 1.5 times too fast.
All my music sounds like the chipmunks singing :)

Any suggestions (other than upgrade to the next media player, that's a last option, i hate the new version) would be greatly appreciated :)
THX

I agree with you completely. Windows Media player 7.0 is a hunk of crap, IMO. Anyway, I'm thinking that you might not have the proper codecs to play the video files.

arghh.....
I jsut got the newest version of mediaplayer, and a copy of the newest winamp.
They both play my music like chipmunk songs. Winamp is slightly slower, but still too fast.
Any Ideas??? Getting desperate. THX

Are there any sound tweaks in 2k? What kind of files are these, ANYTHING but CD's? Seems like it only affect digital files, then. What about video?

turns out that Win2k came with the wrong drivers for my sound card. Went to the dell website, went through a painful installation, and now it all works fine. Thanks for the suggestions guys...
