Trying to help my mom set up her new computer, and her college uses FirstClass as its mail/announcement software. I am trying to set it up so that when she clicks on a URL in firstclass, it will open Internet Explorer and follow the hyperlink.
The way it is now, if you click on a hyperlink it will open notepad, or do nothing at all. The URLS are legitimate too, i know this for fact. FIrstclass settings have no options for "Use this browser to open URLs" or anything like that, so i htink there may be a bug somewhere.

I had this working on her old computer- turns out we had to install Netscape and make this the default browser. Unfortunately she tried installing Netscape on this machine (Win2k) and all she told me was that the installation worked, but the program didn't run afterwards.

Has anyone had the same problem? Its the newest version of firstclass.

I'm not sure how well this will work but you might want to try checking the "File Types" on her machine and look for either "http" or "URL: HyperText Transfer Protocol" and see what program it's default to use. If you find out that either one opens using Notepad, try specifying the Internet Explorer executable and add a "%1" at the end of the commandline. Make sure there's a space between the name of the executable and the "%1" at the end. You might have to reboot after this change but hopefully, it will solve your problem. Good luck. :)
