Hey guys, what eBook reader do you use? I was able to get a couple of eBooks, and I just downloaded the Microsoft eBook reader just because it was smaller. Anyway, it seems pretty cool so far.

My only complaint is, once the eBooks are copied to my Hard drive, I can't move or copy them. I recognize that there is a need for security against copywrite enfringment, but I think that this is going a little far. I mean, what happens if my system crashes or I want to read the books on a different computer? I didn't have to pay for these out of my pocket, but I doubt that I would ever pay for an eBook if that were the case.

Other than that, though, I have no complaints about it. It's kind of like Star Trek... hehe...

You probably downloaded some ebooks with Digital Rights Management. However, I wasn't sure how DRM was used to deter duplication of ebooks. What happens or what errors show up when you tried copying the ebooks?

I haven't tried yet, but when I downloaded it, there was an explanation saying that I would be unable to copy or duplicate the file.

The thing is, when I was loading the program, it said that I would be able to view that particular ebook on up to 4 different platforms. I don't know if that means that the program itself will copy the ebook and transfer it or what, but I see some real marketing problems for ebooks if they are this restrictive.

I'll probably go and check about copying later... I'll let you know what it said...

actually i kinda just got into ebooks with my new ipaq, its actually very usable. I can carry several books at a time, built in dictionary, bookmarking, highlighting and all. So far i've read a 300 page book on it.
