View Full Version : Acura/Honda Diagnostics?

I noticed while picking some things up on the floor of my 1988 Integra that the diagnostic light was flashing-constant rate, 15 times, then a pause, then 15 flashes again. I don’t remember ever seeing this pattern and the car is running great, but I can’t shake the feeling that the flashing pattern is a diagnostic message.
Does anyone know 88-90 Honda diagnostic codes or know a web site that I could use to find them?
Thanks.

In my civic and my mother's accord when the maintenance light starts flashing that means it's getting close to a scheduled maintenance mileage. When you reach the magic mileage number the light stays on. I go to the Honda dealer at that point, but I heard there are directions on how to turn it off in the owner's manual.

There doesn't appear to be anything in the owner's manuals about the flash codes. I found the codes for the 1990 Integra online, but nothing for my 88.

what does any of that have to do with Honda's quality? My uncle has bought two Honda's. The first one he had for 10 years and the second for 4 years, and he has never made anything, but scheduled maintanance. My mother has had an accord for 3 years, nothing but maintanance. I just bought a 2001 civic coupe ex. No problems so far. And I have the indiglo blue "H".
Never had contact with VWs so I can't say how they run.

i dont recall ever saying ANY rice cars like that are cool or quality.... I'm more for the clean exterior and modded right imports. well its all good, this forum seems more of Pro-VW, so ofcourse im going to get bashed for defending hondas. I never said VW wasnt quality. they most definately are.
