Auto power shutdown on Thinkpad problem

Ever since I installed Windows XP on my IBM Thinkpad portable, it will not power off automatically anymore like it use to when I shutdown the computer. I have to push the power off button to power off the computer. Other then this one problem, I am perfectly happy with XP.

I'm not sure how the auto power off feature works so I don't know where to start looking for the problem. Is it a driver or ? ? ?

Any suggestions this I might try to remedy this problem would be appreciated.

I found the problem with the power off situation. It was a setting buried in the control panel - power management section. Just had to check the box and now were working again.
