Stripping news programme suspended
A Bulgarian TV programme featuring female newsreaders who strip off their clothes as they deliver the headlines has been suspended.

The Naked Truth will remain off the air until station owners decide whether to cancel the popular show, programme director Stilian Ivanov said.
Since the late night programme was launched in December, its ratings had outperformed those of state television's traditional late evening news - formerly Bulgaria's most-watched news programme.
The show has recently drawn criticism from the Council on Electronic Media, a watchdog panel appointed by parliament and the president to ensure that television and radio stations respect Bulgaria's media law.
In particular, the group has voiced concern that the private broadcaster, MSAT TV, might have committed plagiarism in using the name of a now-defunct Russian show.
The Russian show which served as the model for the Bulgarian programme was cancelled after viewers got bored and its ratings fell.

perhaps they should have called it "diff'rent strokes" :D
