Do any of you guys use weather.com? I've been using it lately for tracking rain and storms, and it seems fairly accurate. However, we don't have a thermometer right now, so I've also been using it to gauge the temperature. I consider myself a very good judge of temperature, and I'm usually accurate. But I also usually have a thermometer to back me up and see how correct I am.

Anyway, I've started to think that I was a little off as of late, mainly do to the fact that weather.com wasn't agreeing with me all of the time.

So I tonight, I decided to do a test. I was outside, and I thought to myself, wow, its pretty cold. It's probably in the 30's. I check on weather.com and it says that it is 41 degrees. Well, I just refreshed the page, and here is what it says:

Foggy
39°F Feels Like: 39°F

UV Index: 0 Minimal
Wind: calm
Dew Point: 39°F
Humidity: 100 %
Visibility: 1.25 miles
Barometer: 30.22 inches and steady

The problem is, it is clear as a bell, and everything is starting to freeze over. I'm just surprised that it would be this far off.

Of course, I guess, to look on the bright side, I haven't lost my touch! :P

Well... If you took a moment to think about it... They arent measuring the temperature outside your house. For my city, there's a weather station at the local airport a few miles away. Tempatures can vary greatly over very slight distances and/or small changes in elevation. Just a few weeks ago it was snowing on one side of town and on the other it was clear and 40 degrees.

weather.com is a big sell-out now. They have gone with those full-screen translucent Flash ads from time to time. Oh, and pop-ups too!

I go elsewhere for my weather needs.

i think it sucks ass.

i get the email weather reports, and they are always completely wrong. it will say 75 and windy, and it will be 60 and rainy. i think its almost funny how bad they forcast the weather.

Weather.com completely sucks. They have no idea of what the word "forecast" means. Their "forecast" for my area changes every few hours, even on the day being forecast. They can't even "nowcast" correctly.

I just found out. Weather.com gets the weather from about 40 miles away. The only real problem with that is that it is on the other side of a 5,000-6,000 ft mountain range.

You could try accuweather.com for comparison.
