Laptop upgrade

Okey here it goes...I'm running ME on my laptop right now. my laptop is a toshiba...amd 475 with 128 megs of ram....I was wondering if I should install XP...or just go with 98 SE...with those specs...do ya'll think it would be better to go with 98 or XP.

I recommend win2000 pro, all the stability with less overhead.

The thing is...is that I don't have 2000 pro...I only have 98 se...or XP.

how much memory does XP actually take? Because on my 4 gig hd...I only have 1.7 gigs left...does it actually take that much?
