What kind of connections do the speakers provide??
And Sir Froggy. There's an <edit> button for such situations.

So if I'm getting this correctly, you're trying to connect regular 1/8" speaker wires to the RCA holes in your TV?? Can't you just get a converter from Radio Shack or something? There might be some male/female switching in the middle, but it should be easy.

then will i get the surround sound and such?

well, you're TV won't be sending out a true surround sound signal so it wouldn't be true surround sound anyway. It'll just be a bunch of speakers emitting the same signal. But it is quite nice to have lots of speakers. well, you can split the left and right so they each send signals to the main and also the rear speakers. But as I said, it would just be lots of speakers playing, not surround sound.
Get something like this:

Hey leon,
I have a question. I remember you saying how much you liked the 5ch surround that Denon receivers can do. I have the avr-1801 and I use it for everything from music to TV. I agree it's awesome. But is that basically the rear speakers playing the same signals as the mains? If so it seems like an awefully simply thing, yet so few receivers have that function available...what's up with that?

Been sort of busy with selling my car and moving out of my old place. Just sold it today though! I'm so happy.

Did you sell it to the iwanttowriteacheck dork or someone else? :heh:
Oh and for the speakers, I don't understand the problem. You have a TV with outputs, and your speakers will connect to the outputs and replicate your TV speakers. If you want surround, you need to connect them to a surroundsound receiver.
