Hugh Hefner could be forced to sell his famous Playboy mansion to avoid bankruptcy, it was claimed yesterday.
Hefner, 75, has lived in the six-acre estate - famed for star-studded parties - for about 30 years.
But annual costs of £3million and flagging profits from his erotic magazine business could mean he is forced to sell the 31-room house in Los Angeles.
US leisure industry analyst TK MacKay said: "Sex sells but it doesn't generate big profits. The mansion is a sheer drain.
"We're talking about a company teetering on the edge."
MacKay also insisted Hefner's website is a drain, saying: "Hefner made £7million in loans to keep Playboy.com afloat. This has a significant impact."
