Its good. First 500 increments as you first start out, getting up to speed. Then 1000 post increments followed by 1500, 2000 and 2500. Pushing you ever higher to get to the next rank and celebration.

hmmmm, i forgot to dance in the streets when i hit 500. if you want my opinion, post count threads are just stupid. it's like saying "hi, the only reason i'm here is to get as many posts as i can so i can have a rank that's higher than yours." alot of people on this forum have 500+ posts and haven't said anything significant. i'm not saying that what i have to say is meaningful or worthwhile...but i can't stand people who post a smiley face or 'HAHAHAHHAA' and then go on to proclaim how f'ing great they are when the hit 500 posts. NO WONDER YOU HAVE 500 (or 1000) POSTS!! 75% of them were smiley faces! how about writing a script that goes back and bases ranks on volume...or relevance to the subject at hand. anyone can come in here, post smileys, laugh at jokes or have running conversations with themselves and pad their post count...but it's those same people that make post counts meaningless.

i dunno...i think there are alot of people here with great things to say...or else i wouldn't stick around, and what it boils down to is i read the comments made by certain people, and ignore the smileys or irrelevant one liners without regard to rank.

i don't care if you're an ensign or a commander, if you're on point with a few sentences or a paragraph, then props to you...you have truly grasped the notion of a 'forum'...on the other hand if you're a commander or a n00b and you're posting smileys and then turning around and proclaiming how much you kicka$$ because you hit 1000 posts...then you're not contributing the the forum...you're making ranks meaningless.
