Euro notes 'only poisonous if you eat 400 at once'

A European Central Bank board member is warning people not to eat more than 400 euro notes at once.

Eugenio Domingo Solans was responding to reports the ink on the notes is poisonous.

He told reporters the ink only poses health risks if people eat hundreds of the notes.

He says experts have examined the bills and decided there's only a theoretical danger.

He told reporters it's not recommended to eat the euro notes and also said the practice would be "expensive".

Professor Eugenio Domingo Solans, who is a member of both the Governing Council and the Executive Board of the European Central Bank, made his comments at a press conference in Madrid.

Did somebody actually eat 400 Euro notes to verify that you can die from eating the money? Would 399 Euro notes be non-lethal?

This may be way out there, but I am guessing that they were trying to alay fears that a child might be poisoned after eating the bills. Or that a toxin might be absorbed by handling the bills. Could I also point out that drinking 400 beers in a day would kill you too?

I think for me, the bladder would be the first to go. Heck, I have a problem after one or two beers. I don't really start getting a good buzz till after much more than that. Might just be me, but ADH is usually the first thing to go south. :P

what's ADH? btw, to alleviate the bladder problem, try paying a visit to a toilet or a bush...your body will do the rest.

ADH=Antidiuretic hormone. It's a chemical your body makes to concentrate your pee. Alcohol gets in the way of it getting released, that's why beer makes you need to piss like a horse. I do go, quite often actually (just what everyone in this forum wants to discuss :rolleyes: ),but after the tenth time in half an hour, it starts to get tedious. That and after a night of drinking, I start having trouble finding either. :P
