babelfish ist ein Onlineübersetzer, der eine vollständige Verwirrung von Sprachen von Englisch und umgekehrt übersetzt. Ist hier das Link: http://babelfish.altavista.com/translate.dyn

of course i've heard of babelfish. i just want to be able to read/speak it without having to use babel. i only want to use it as a proof-reader until i get better :P

babelfish ain't got no Arabic translator, so it doesn't help me in my class...
good luck on the German though!

I started learning German in High School and eventually in a roundabout way got a minor in it in College. I can honestly say that while it isn't spoken by a huge amount of Europe it comes in handy if you have to talk/travel to Germany/Switzerland/Austria on a regular basis (which I do in my line of work).
And don't tell the Niederlanders this, but it's pretty easy to read Dutch when you know German and English.
Now I have to learn French since most of the world either speaks English, French or Spanish (if you go by number of countries and not population - then you have to throw chinese in there big-time)
