"KaZaa has let it slip that they have the power to shut off all those copies.."

Now I wonder why they said that because I bet the music industry is gonna make em do it..

I figured that Kazaa wouldn't last too much longer...

I'm just wondering how long Morpheus is going to last.

yeah, but even if others go down, another will spring up. my roomie uses Limewire and he likes it. and if that goes down, someone will develop something superior, and so on...

i wouldn't worry too much.

irc...

been getting my borrowed software and music from there since '95...sure, i switched to napster and then morpheus because of the ease...but i'm loving the thought of returning to leech and ratio ftp's...irc is so much more personal than morpheus...more fun too.

and due to the fact that it's degree of geekiness is higher than your average windows app, the numbskulls stay out.

Why doesn't the music industry just give up? There is nothing they can do about it! There going down! Free music for everyone!

well....if you cant download kazaa anymore, cant you still use the program and get music since theres no central server?

I think you need a central server to make the initial contact though. Once made, yes, you can maintain the download without the central server.

I'm with you on this one, aglio. I don't go to irc for files very often, but when I do, I get what I need quickly and easily. Plus you can talk while you're there! :D
