I just learned the sad news that a friend of mine, Ron Taylor, best known for his voice portrayal of Bleeding Gums Murphy on the Simpsons, has passed away.
Ron was a wonderful talent, a beautiful person, and amazingly wonderful to kids.
He will be missed terribly.

once more from the top... when the jazz man sings...
You know, there are few times in your life when you will meet genuinely good people. A man with talent and charm who still took the time to spend a day at my daughter's classroom talking to all the kids about the Simpsons, even though he was in the middle of performing 8 shows a week on one of the most successful musicals to grace the San Diego stage (It Ain't Nothin' but the Blues). A man who never had an unkind word to say about anyone, and always found the positive side. I'm so glad to have known him. And I know this is silly, but I keep thinking of the scene in the Simpsons when he looks down from the clouds... and I keep looking up in the clouds, hoping I'll see him there.
Thank you for allowing me a place to grieve.
