but the democrats made a huge deal out of renting the hotel room he used as his address out from under him. He always spoke of retiring back to Houston

the Bush clan is originally from CT. They moved to TX when George W. was a kid. but like most Washington politicians, the DC area was more "home" to him than anywhere.
btw, Bush Sr. now lives somewhere around houston
