no "kitty" ;) anymore... straight back, with a 22" and a 26" set of inline resonators...
we started out with just the 26" one at the rear... WAAAAY to loud / throaty, and had peaky harmonics, and when i let off the gass it sounded really raspy.
added the other one up where the kitty used to be, and its a lot better. The guy with me (also owns a BMW, similar year/model) likes the end result, but i still think the sound is TOO BIG for my little 4 cylinder. At least i'm not running a huge exhaust tip... its just got the original sized (2.25") exhaust pipe all the way, and out the end also. No big tip for me :)
He tells me it'll mellow out a little in a week or two - i sure hope soo. If not, i might be back in there for a real muffler (Dynomax or something).
Guy did it all custom, to my liking, as i stood by and watched, in about 2 hours (chatting etc also) for $100. And he says if i dont like it i can come back and he'll keep working on it with me.
Hes a friend of a guy i met from a BMW forums (lives here in town). Pretty nice folks.
