It's kinda quirky, entertaining stuff. I've got the CD, and plug it in once in a while, mostly when I'm playing games or something...
I wouldn't say it's great art, or that anyone will remember them in 5-10 years... They're no threat to the likes of U2, REM, Peter Gabriel, or other long-term groups. But it's more interesting to listen to than the latest boy band/teen diva stuff that floods the radio.

i'm with you there. if it had come out 10 years ago, no one would have cared. but right now, the competition is so lame that anything slightly innovative is a nice surprise.

from the songs i've heard, the styles are pretty different. *shrug* the clint eastwood song was pretty good, but besides that one, not much of a fan of their other songs.

Man, you totally exist on this board to be a troll...
Anyway, Gorillaz is not just a band, they are what I consider to be an updated version of the Traveling Wilburys. They are the closest thing we have right now to a "supergroup" a la Genesis. The lead singer is from blur, the little girl (Noodles) is one of the two Cibo Matto girls, the rapper is Del tha Funky Homosapien (all you THPS3 fans should know him). The turntables are done by Kid Koala who's no slouch and it's animated by Jamie Hewlett, who did Tank Girl.
