There is something so entirely wrong with this scenario (http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/industry/01/21/aol.red.hat.ap/index.html) if the rumors are true.
Given, I would love to see Linux acheive a wider user-base, but I don't think this is the way to do it. How can RedHat possibly even consider this? The company will be the black sheep of the Linux distro family if this deal goes through because the Linux community so strongly believes in things being free (both in speech and in beer) and open-source. AOL is one of the major monopolies in this country. The last thing we need is for AOL to try to take over a company that is based upon something that completely opposes their morals and tactics just so that AOL can give Microsoft a run for its money. Bah, me no likey!
