Saw this Movie early friday ( yes, lots of movies this weekend)

It was kind of funny... Most of the really good parts are in the trailer... I was more a maintee or a renter than to waste 10 bux on the movie... it had it's moments... anyone else see it?

Although I know it's gonna suck, I really want to watch it just to see Jack Black.

You should see it for all the cameo appearances, and for the few moments when Colin Hanks even *sounds* like his father. If you're from California -- or hate California -- you'll also laugh at this. ;)

BF thought Colin's "speeches" interfered with the flow of the movie. :shrug: I think he only paid attention when Jack Black appeared. :P

(Agree with Nija's matinee/rental suggestion)

HAHA!!! I know what you're talking about. I spent 95% of my college years at Cal dealing basically with people from Northern and Southern Cali. And I spent quite some time actually travelling between the two areas. It's always hilarious to see the differences in culture and personalities. Though I think of myself more in tune with the Northern lifestyle, the "L.A." way of life is also extremely interesting nonetheless.

OK movie kinda like a John Hughes film, good movie when you aren't feeling too cerebral, wait til it comes on cable. The best part of the movie was the soundtrack...

I just rented it. I thought it was sorta funny, but not hilarious. The cast of characters was perfect. I had a coupon for a 99 cent rental at Hollywood Video. It was worth the money.
