20" Flat Screen RCA at Walmart for $229. It has all the features, 2 Composite, 1 S-video, Guide+ and a phat glow in the dark remote. I bought it and hooked it up with my Gamecube through S-video and it looks great. It may not be Sony Trinitron but its also half the price.

Just too bad the thing is ugly as SIN!!! Cripe...flat screens are great, but for cryin' out loud, make the box they sit in look good too!!

YUCK!!

I guess there's a reason this one is sold at Wal-Mart and the Sony Wega's aren't.

OT:
OK, sorry to be so off-topic and stupid here but I have a gamecube and used the rca jacks that came with it. I don't remember seeing the option for s-video connection or any way to connect via s-video. Can someone enlighten? Is this a special s-video connector or just standard s-video? The included cables look great on my Sony Trintron 27" monitor but if they could look even better...

You just have to buy a S-Video cord for it. You can also get Component cables if you TV has the capability.

Like I said, it's no Sony wega but try to find a 20" wega for that price.

You won't get a Sony wega at that price, and what those pics fail to show is the real backing of the TVs, the sony wega is NOT that thin at the back. They totally removed the depth of the wega....

Hey chosen,
S-video is also the way I swing. However, you know that one other kind of connection with Cy, Cx, Cz (or something like that)?? I always get it confused. Is it composite or component....Anyway do you know how that compares to S-video? Is there a real big difference?

It's component, R-G-B in 3 cables. It is better for higher end sets, Svideo does for most people for DVDs and video games though. Note I think you need component cables for progressive scan but I could be wrong.

Component is an optimal connection, but it's mainly for progressive scan tv's (Like my Toshiba 57" Widescreen HDTV in my DORM ROOM! yeah baby!) I got such a great deal on that thing. I pricematched with Best Buy and got them to drop like $1,000!

Anyway, you can see the difference between S-video and Component if you have a progressive scan tv. It really breath taking!

Progressive scan shows you the whole frame every second. Regular feed is interlaced, so you only see like every other line, then the next frame is all the lines they skipped and so on.

If you've ever seen a demonstration of an HDTV with a progressive scan signal being sent to it, the picture is like looking out a windows. It's so sharp and whole. It is like popping out at you.

Now picture this with a Gamecube! YEAH!

Does anyone know how to find out which WalMart stores stock a particular item, like this TV? I have tried two local storees with another 50 or so in this major metro area... but I want to just go to ONE more, not all 50.

This is interesting. After checking one local "regular" WalMart with no luck, I decided to check out a new WalMart Super Store, and found one in stock. It was in the back and one of the clerks went back and found it. Priced at the walmart.com price point.

But here's the strange part... the dept manager came by as I was checking out and said, "Oh, one of those NEW RCA models." I said no, this is a clearance model. She scanned the UPC with her had scanner and showed me the screen... listed as a NEW ITEM. She said I was getting the first one in the store, and that I got it even before she had had a chance to put it on display. So, walmart.com shows it as a clearance item while the B&M stores show it as a new item.

I wondered if I had been screwed on the price, so I did a Google on the model number and it seems that the $230 price is a good one.

Now to get this beast up the stairs, and the dead 12 year old Sony 19" back down the stairs...

I saw it at WalMart. It is quite ugly. It is a very deep set. And the screen is too small for me. I'll stick with the regular 26" and 32" sets that I have.
I did pick up some S-video cables though...

That RCA looks old for some reason. Maybe it is the rounded corners.
