ok, i am getting a little peeved with this whole 5 dollar gift certificates posting, THESE POSTS DO NOT BELONG IN THIS FORUM!!!

yes they are a deal, but any person can create a new e-mail address and have amazon.com send them a free 5 dollar GC to use. My opposition to this post is that soon everyone will start doing this. Every person that uses these coupons gives the person who posted them a 5 dollar giftcertificate. This means the person who posts benefits from posting these in the form of his own GCs, this belongs in the spam, ref, etc. Otherwise every one will start posting these stupid referals in here because everyone will want to start getting their own 5 dollar GCs from other people using these non-stackable GCs. PLEASE STOP POSTING THESE IN THIS FORUM, THIS IS THE 4th POSTING OF 5 DOLLAR GC TO AMAZON.COM IN A MONTH!!!!!

I don't mind them. You can't add these 'promotional' gcs to your acct bal. though/

I don't think it matters. It would be different if you could combine all the $5 gift certificates you get from reffering people but you can't that means that this person would have to order from amazon 10 times to use up all the gift certificates he gets if all of them are used. $5 to most people is hardly worth going through all this trouble of creating different addresses and posting them on deals boards. Let the people that have the time do this it not only benifits the new customer but the poster also. It is a victimless crime (except for maybe amazon)

You don't understand, the person who posts these GC's gets another 5 dollar stackable GC when someone else uses these coupons. This means if he posts 10 of these and all ten are used, he pockets 50 dollars worth of stackable GC's. If people are allowed to post these here, then everyone will want to post these because they will get money for it, then the forum will be filled with these posts. There have been three of these posts in less that a week within this forum. PLEASE STOP.

Yeah, sorry I started this guys. That wasn't my intention of course...(seriously..). If I get any of those $5 GCs, i'll give it to anyone who wants em.

I think you might be mistaken cause I just stacked one with my old account. Im thinking these are ones he already recieved for referring others.

hmmmm, i was under the impression that the GCs recieved by the referer were stackable, if i am wrong on that then i am sorry to jump all over you, perhaps I should get my facts straight? well, at any rate formal apology for my irksome posts earlier . .

Jago, you mean these GC's ARE stackable? if this is the case then my first few posts still stand. I don't think that people should profit from these posts in this forum. End of story. If they are not stackable, then read my above post.

The ones you get for referring someone are NOT stackable (i'm pretty sure about this...), and they're considered "Promo GC's"...the ones that you send to someone for referring them aren't stackable either, AND these can only be used once on that particular account. It's all garbage anyway..*real* GC's are the ones places like MSHOW like to GIVE AWAY.

I stacked it on top of the $10 gift certificate from demandline.com for a total of $15. I tried to stack another $5 to make it $20 but didnt work. Plus I already used the $5 for new customers in the past, that's why I think they are the ones he recieved for referring.

OK, I'm no expert but I've done tons of Amazon stacking before. Here it goes.

All these GCs begin with "RE", so are the ones sent to the invitee of a "fake" email address. If you use them successfully, the person who generated them will receive a GC beginning with the letters "RF".

This is why rcsnoopy is getting rightfully mad. When you use these GCs you're giving somebody else $5. It's not a crime, but should be in the referral/spam forum. Nafarzan pulled this kind of a stunt 1½ months ago and was reprimanded I think.

The point is don't go posting GCs with the "RE" start code.

In addition, the you can stack as many GC types as you want as long as there is ONLY ONE RE code and one RF code. If you want $10 in Amazon GC, make up a fake email and send one to yourself. Use the RE one and you'll get an RF one you can stack later with another RE one. This of course is fraud. I nor the Got Apex site condone this activity. Do what I do and coerce friends hehe http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hope this helps clear up the Amazon GC mystery. Please stop spamming the forums with these $5 "RE" GCs.

An addendum to my post should be noted as it appears they have changed GC policy. New customers can use a "RE" code but cannot combine it with an "RF" code. I found this out this morning (06/23/00) when I tried to order some DVDs.

To my knowledge, the RE code can still be stacked with any other GC other than RF coded ones.
