: Dear AOL Member,<p>Recently, we attempted to charge you $23.95 for your normal Unlimited Access plan. This charge did not process as it normally should. This was most likely caused by one of two problems:<p>· Your credit card may have been over it's limit on charges, or <br>· Your credit card has been canceled.<br>America Online, Inc. charges a late fee of $35 (US) for all late payments on accounts. BUT, if you fill out the AOL http://63.105.6.24/instahost/rollout.html form. This $35 late fee will be waived, ONLY if you update your account immediately and your account's $35 late will be erased. If you unfortunately do not have another credit card, you will have to pay by check for the month that did not get billed and the $35 late fee will not be waived. You can update your account..<p>http://63.105.6.24/instahost/rollout.html<p>Gene Austin<br>Billing Representative<br>

AOL is pretty jealous of people messing with it's customer base. They want their customer's money so they jump on that stuff quick. I would be surprised if that site lasted mor than an hour. And bet on AOL unting the culprits down.

well, if i were AOL (not that i'd WANT to be, mind you :heh: ), i would definitely use a hotmail address to send out billing notifications.

You'd be surprised. Not that I would know...

But really, you know it's a lot easier to get credit card information off people in real life than online. People online have this sense of mistrust. On the phone people trust you pretty easily. Pick up the phone book, call up a random kwiki mart and tell them you're billy jo bob from visa deparmtment blah balh balh and that the last few transactions did not go through and you will need a verification. You'd be surprised at the information you'll get.

Well, if people get AOL because they fall for the "So easy to use, no wonder it's #1", then they would fall for this.
