Saw this one in-store. Price rollback from $270. Looked like a pretty decent monitor.

I have a KDS monitor. One great thing about them is the terrific warranty. The bad thing is, you really need to have that warranty. I am on my 3rd KDS monitor. Yup, they sent me 2 replacements. My original blew out. They sent me one right away as a replacement. But the one they sent me had a bent pin and a missing pin in the adapter. These adapters are wired to the monitor and are not removeable. So I had to send that back and get another one. I had to pay for shipping for the 1st monitor I sent back and let me tell you, shipping a monitor back via UPS is not cheap. As for the screen, I am generally pleased with the the colors, text display and the sharpness. Its no Sony but hey, I also didn't pay Sony prices. =) We have nothing but Viewsonic's at work and in my opinion, KDS monitors are on a par with Viewsonic. I've only been at this workplace for 4 months and I've seen 6 Viewsonic monitors sent back for replacement! Crazy... And recently, we had a Viewsonic 19" flat panel that was DOA.

The newer KDS flat monitors are X-Flat.. they use Shadow Mask as opposed to Aperature Grille(sp).. Shadow Masking is cheaper for the maker of the monitor, but Aperature Grille monitors (the ones with Trinitron tubes) look MUCH better..
