Running IIS on Cable Modem

Does anybody know how to setup IIS with a Cable modem. I'm using windows 2000 server my connection is att 3com cable modem
I have installed IIS. for example if at home I open the browser I type in http://myipaddress or my domain. I would get the index page from the server and every computer in LAN, but if I'm anyhwere else or using a phone line, type in http://myipaddress or domain i get a page cannot be display.
I can Ping both my Publich IP and my domain
I'm not using the firewall.

Your provider probably blocks port 80 like most do since it is against the TOS to run a server.......

You are right, ATT blocked the port 80. But there is another way to work arround, just check out www.dslwebserver.com, They got very detail information regarding setup Web server on DSL or Cable.

I use IIS to log in remotely as well, also have a cable modem. Port 80 was blocked as well.....I changed the port to 8081 and now I am able to login remotely by....http://ipaddress:8081/tsweb

I tried logging in today but I couldn't, comes to find out when I got home to see what the problem was, they changed my ip address.

a good way to get around them changing your ip address is to use a free program called dns2go - http://www.dns2go.com Its a little program that you run on your pc that will update the dns server to whatever ip address you are - you can have it update like every half hour or something. It works with registered domain names, or you can even get a free subdomain from them, afterwhich you can connect to your box through the internet by going to http://yoursubdomain.dns2go.com:8081.
