Hi,
I called in to AMEX and asked them if they would price match
from a closed auction at Ebay. The sales representative said
all I need was a dated printed sheet showing the price of the
product and they would match it.
Has anyone done a price guarrantee using a closed auction from ebay?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I've always been told they do not match auction prices-- maybe they mean if you buy at auction and use Amex to pay??
I'd be leary-- don't spend $2,000 on something to match on Ebay. And don't forget, the ad has to be AFTER your purchase date. (I.e., you can't print a price out today, and then buy somewhere else tomorrow.. at least they've never let me do that!)
This all reminds me, I have a couple checks of theirs to cash. ;)

FYI:
They do not pricematch jewelry related items. for example: watches.

This is from a letter from AMEX describing the Best Value Guarantee that I just received the other day. All misspellings are mine.
Items not covered are: animals and living plants; one of a kind items (including antiques, artwork and furs); limited quantity items; items that the advertisement states can be purchased with cash only; demonstration items; going-out-of-business items; "discontinued items"; consumables or perishable items with limited life spans (such as, but not limited to perfume, light bulbs, non-rechargeable batteries); jewelry and precious stones; services and additional costs (such as installation charges, warranties, shipping, taxes, or car rentals); rare and precious coins; stamps; used, rebuilt and refurbished items; cellular phones, pagers; tickets of any kind; travelers cheques; motorized vehicles and their parts (such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, airplanes, or riding lawn mowers); land and buildings; negotiable instruments (such as promissory notes); cash and its equivalent.
I wonder if they cover things you bought with the Blue card via Paypal . . .

I think they will accept that, since you send them your original receipt they can see that you paid with blue... the difference would still be the same that they would credit.
Also, I don't think they would pricematch eBay since it is an auction site, otherwise you could start pricematching stuff that ends up going for like $1....
LOL.... they won't pricematch "one of a kind items"... How could they if there is only one of them!?!?!

I bought an LCD monitor from Amazon and found a lower price at PCNation.com. I used my AMEX Blue and filed a claim. Amex rejected it, claiming that Price Protection "does not cover business items"
It's like they try to find any excuse to reject your claims!
I bought a Flip down LCD video system for my Yukon and found it $169.00 cheaper and Amex refunded me the money, No problem. Whole process took maybe 10 days... Sweeeetttt
