pretty odd post for someone who calls himself a consumer advocate...and if you really think you order will go though, think again, customer service has already been alerted according to other boards.

Just to let you know consumeradvocate, the rule is that if u post a deal, make the topic tell what it is, don't just say "GO GO GO!"

ok I just checked anandtech (i do this once every couple of weeks for the hell of it), and I see people are placing 7-8 orders each. Trust me, it's a dead deal...they'd be stupid to lose millions just because of a small mistake (of course, I tried it with a webcert, but my hopes are at 0%).

Hmm..
i just purchased two neo geo games for about 15 bucks using the coupon. It seemed to work fine and the order processed. What are the chances that they'll retroactively charge my credit card

Good luck on your purchased. Hope you get it!

Not alot of people will get it I bet. The reason is because buy.com doesn't charge your credit card until shipment anymore (since that Hitachi Monitor fiasco) and has the right to verify all orders and then correct any mistakes. This is all a legal issue, and companies have the right to do so. If you look at your local newspaper ads, companies protect themselves from mistakes in advertising and such a coupon is considered advertising.

Now, some companies will honour mistake prices and coupons if they're reasonable. But, no you won't get a BMW 528i for 4338 dollars if it was misprinted (when it would be 44380). Something like a 50 off 50 will not be honoured.

FYI and a heads up.

"Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. buy.com reserves the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept or decline your order for any reason. buy.com reserves the right at any time after receipt of your order, without prior notice to you, to supply less than the quantity you ordered of any item. All orders placed over $2000.00 (U.S.) must obtain pre-approval with an acceptable method of payment, as established by our credit and fraud avoidance department. We may require additional verifications or information before accepting any order. buy.com is a reseller to end user customers and does not accept orders from computer dealers, exporters, wholesalers, or other customers who intend to resell the products offered by buy.com. "

If you place an order, you agree to their policies.

The FTC will require 24 hours shipment within charging the credit card, so they won't charge until they ship, unless it's an order over 2k, which they specifically state that they'll charge in advance. Because of that statment, doing so is allowed.

One thing, before you get into a deal, read up on what is entailed..be an informed shopper, not a stupid shopper

I got in on 6 DVD's for about $18 with shipping. I used an ecount so that if they try and charge me full price there won't be enough funds.

Good luck to all of you who tried this deal, but I doubt it will happen. Buy.com checks their orders before shipped as mentioned.

I am the moral police and there's nothing you can say or do to keep me from here! Haha, so there!

BTW, Go Go Go is not an appropriate title for a post as mentioned. Please use some thought when creating new topics in the future.
