How do i check a Hard drive for bad spots
im trading some HD's and the guy said he dont want bad spots
do i use scandisk thats all i can think of

I guess all you gotta do it scandisk with the full surface scan. Then when you give it to him, roll up your sleeves and say:
"Spots? I spit on your spots!"
and hand him the drive.

:dodgy: Some of these G|A threads are starting to get weird.
Anyway, one thing to remember, if your hard drive does have bad "spots", scandisk can't do a whole lot. It will block them off so no data is corrupted, but they are still there. Also, if there are bad "spots, something is causing them. A hard drive that is starting to get a lot of errors is near the end of its lifespan.

well i tried doing that
with my fujitusu it said it has tried 10 times but was interuppted
there was nothing running...in the bottom right hand corner..
whats goin on?
Run the scandisk in safemode.
