Heh heh. That's pretty good.
That celeron at 1.4 runs neck and neck with the 2 gig P4.
Makes me so jealous of all those P4 owners out there. Why, for only double the price, I could have celeron-level performance too!

Ok...
I'll amend my post.
Why, for only TRIPLE the price, I could have celeron-like performance too! :D
I was thinking about upgrading my wife's P3-733 machine, and putting an Athlon XP and new motherboard in it... but geesh. I can just pop one of these babies in there, keep her existing mb, and save myself a lot of green.
Cool benchies, Chosen... they'll save me some cash.

Hmm...
I'll have to do some digging. It never occured to me I'd need a newer chipset to use the chip. I don't follow the Intel stuff much since I've been using Athlons in my own systems for a couple of years now.
My wife's pc has an MSI Pro266 Master in it, a socket370 board. Via VT8633 chipset on it.

Nice board. Supports DDR or SDRAM, ATA100, and seems to be stable as hell. I don't overclock her machine at all, though, so that helps the stability part.
I'll have to do some digging to find out whether that'll fly or not.

Hahaha.. that is funny, chosen...
It just confirms my thoughts as of now. If/when I upgrade my CPU, it will be to a Duron (I have a compatible mobo). As of right now, unless you want to get your piss higher ;) , why wouldn't you go with a budget chip?

Aren't the new celerons actually the old P3's? Or something like that...

Yeah, they're using the Tualatin core. I wonder how long that will last though?
