Nicemann - I would think we have a right to complain. In my case, it's been 4 months and I've received exactly ONE survey(which I had to fill out TWICE because of some error on their side) and I haven't received payment for it either.

People wouldn't complain except we did pay an upfront setup fee to show our 'commitment'. If the fee wasn't in place, there definitely wouldn't be much to complain about. As it were, they've held my money and I've received no benefit(and they expect me to refer people. hah) from it....

Just got an e-mail from Rhinopoint.&nbsp; Here are some choice excerpts:</p>
<font SIZE="2">

Ultimall</font> <font SIZE="2">has arranged a corporate account for us with
the nation’s</font> <font SIZE="2">largest online payment service, “PayPal”.&nbsp;
</font> <font SIZE="2">While the account you setup with them is for your
rhinoPoint</font> <font SIZE="2">payments, it is your account to use as you
wish. </font><font SIZE="2">For a limited time,</font> <font SIZE="2">they are
paying a $5.00 bonus when you register to get your</font> <font SIZE="2">money
from us. Our account link is below:</font></p>

<font SIZE="2"><a href="https://secure.paypal.com/affil/pal=[email protected]">https://secure.paypal.com/affil/pal=paypal%40rhinopoint.net</a></font></p>
<font SIZE="2">

Since we are giving you the option of</font> <font SIZE="2">getting paid
through PayPal (<span style="background-color: #FFFF00">other options for
payment will</span></font><span style="background-color: #FFFF00"> </span><font SIZE="2"><span style="background-color: #FFFF00">be
available in the future</span>), we need to know who has chosen</font> <font SIZE="2">this
option and therefore who has a PayPal account. If you</font> <font SIZE="2">sign
up off this link, we will know that you want to get</font> <font SIZE="2">paid
this way. If you already have a PayPal account, you</font> <font SIZE="2">need
to make sure that your PayPal email address matches</font> <font SIZE="2">your
rhinoPoint email address. If it does not, you must add</font> <font SIZE="2">your
rhinoPoint email address to your Paypal account (do not</font> <font SIZE="2">change
your rhinoPoint address to match your Paypal address).</font> <font SIZE="2">Paypal
has confirmed that this is all you need to do. Please</font> <font SIZE="2">email
us at [email protected] with your member ID, so we</font> <font SIZE="2">can
track accounts not setup through our account link for</font> <font SIZE="2">proper
reimbursement.</font> <font SIZE="2">Paypal does not require much information to
get paid, but you</font> <font SIZE="2">must register completely for us to get
the notification in a</font> <font SIZE="2">timely manner. We want to get you
paid ASAP. If you are due</font> <font SIZE="2">for more than one survey,
remember that we are crediting</font> <font SIZE="2">people based on the closing
date of the survey. You will</font> <font SIZE="2">only receive payment for one
survey at a time. Again, you</font> <font SIZE="2">must use the link above if
you do not already have a Paypal</font> <font SIZE="2">account.</font></p>

So, not only did they charge me $13 to set-up my account, but they want to
make $5 off of everyone by getting them to sign up for PayPal through
them.&nbsp; I already have a Paypal account and I think they're great, but I'm
very suspicious about RhinoPoint's reasons for doing this and I frankly have no
confidence that I'll ever see any money from them.&nbsp; They didn't need PayPal
to charge my Visa to set-up my account, why do they need it to give me a
credit?&nbsp; Has anyone gotten their money yet?</p>

&nbsp;</p>

Seems like everyone is randomly using the word "Scam" lately. This is more like a business plan gone bad. I'd more likely reserve the word "Scam" for something that required your money and then promises something in return, and then fails to fulfill the promise after all avenues of resolution are exhausted.

No no, you GET $5 for signing up through PayPal! It's a PayPal offer, they credit your account for signing up for the free service. My only problem is that I have tried to sign up for Paypal and for some reason it won't take all 6 of my credit cards which work fine everywhere else.

I just E-mailed Rhinopoint and gave them a piece of my mind as well. I have been a member since March 25 and have recieved, count em, 1 survey and that was on May 5th. I haven't been credited squat for that survey and it's been well over a month and a half. I'm seriously contemplating E-mailing them and asking for a refund for the sign-up fee. When I registered the deal was one survey a month, not a survey when they feel around to getting it!

People calm down. Yes Rhinopoint has had some problems. They are not living up to actually what they said but hey THEY ARE TRYING. Whenever I email them for support I always get a fast response. They could have taken our money and ran, but they didn't. I do believe they had trouble with their credit card processor. What you guys don't understand is that is is hard to put a credit on a card for not the same amount of the charge. That is why casinos will refund the amount you charged and send you a check.

I am glad they are going to use Paypal. With paypal I know I can withdraw it. As for the number of surveys...give them a chance. They got over flooded with signups. I mean REALLY over flooded. I am sure when they start paying out and everything, things will run a lot smoother.

One last thing...people on this forum are really getting negative. If you notice a lot of the posts now are bashing other people. If you don't like the person and/or company...fine don't use it. You can warn others about the company just don't going around calling it a scam when it's not. Rhinopoint is not a scam.

Ok I spoke my peace. Now you all can knock me.

This is the e-mail I received from Rhinopoint:

Over the last six weeks we have been negotiating with
a card service provider to issue credits through your
credit card. Our old provider could not handle the volume.
We are not happy with the weekly delays so we are issuing
credits through a consumer payment service called Ultimall.

Each survey is getting processed by its closing date. This
will cause you to receive one credit at a time even though
you may be due two. Again, the volume does restrict us, so
please be patient. We have thousands of credits to issue and
hope to be caught up by the end of the month. Ultimall will
offer to pay you through their service that offers a direct
deposit to your bank or a printed check mailed to you. You
will be receiving an email with further information from
[email protected]

Thank You.

Playdoh I signed up when they first opened up. I also have recieved only one survey and been charged. Rhinopoint still isn't a scam. They are having problems, give them a break. At least they are trying to pay us. What I get more mad about is people going around yelling scam every 2 minutes. They didn't just take our money and run. Their support staff has always been there.

I am sure when they start paying out, they will start sending more surverys out.

Why should I give them a break? It HAS been 4 months. I haven't resorted to calling them a scam. However, they're certainly deceptive when they get you to sign up. And unlike you, I've gotten virtually no responses from my emails to them. And the one email I did get from them when I outlined the problem I had with them, I couldn't believe they ended their reply with, "Don't forget to refer your friends to receive credit." I found that quite laughable...

Scam! Scam! Scam! Scam! Scam! Scam!

It seems like that's what everyone is yelling on their boards these days. I'm sure if you signed up for Rhinopoint (which I didn't), and the company collapses, there will be consumer fraud protection. You know what's the difference bewteen a legit company and a scam? Legit companies have their address listed and their phone numbers around. Every company has had their hiccups when they started off..trust me I've worked for a few startups.

Give them a break for a bit...wait a bit...if they don't reimburse you or say they'll reimburse you at all, just ask for the 16 dollar refund.

If that doesn't work, you can take up the charge with your CC company, i'm pretty sure.

psycho - I think you have to report any problem with a transaction within a certain time period. So taking this up with the cc company for a 4 month old charge prolly wouldn't work. (Rhinopoint could've made that come into play when it mentioned that you wouldn't get your first survey til about 30-45 days after signing up/payment)

As for "waiting a bit".... I've waited 4 months. How much longer should I wait? Another 2 months?
